Our companion site brings a number of changes to the group's ARPG functions. The following is a list of what has changed and how, as well as what explicitly has not changed.

Keep an eye out for bolded points for directions regarding the new procedures!

Banking

  • All Mothcat Banks and banking now live on the site!
    • Your new Mothcat Bank is your user profile on site.
  • General inventory management, including record-keeping, is now managed by the site itself.
    • Which is to say: you will no longer need or be expected to update your own bank or transaction log going forward.
    • Additionally, inventories are automatically categorized by item type!
  • Currencies, such as Flower Tokens, and items will enter your bank as:
    • A reward for a submission
    • A result of a claim
    • A direct grant from an admin
  • And be removed either manually by an admin as part of a ARPG function, or as a result of one of a couple functions of the site (that must be prompted by the user-- that is, you.)

Migrating your Bank

  • If you have an existing Mothcat Bank that you want to migrate to the new site:
    • You should first make sure your bank, especially your transaction log, is up-to-date!
    • Stop by the Migration Station and the migration team will help you out!

Stacks

  • Items stack fully-- if you have preexisting "stacks" from before this was implemented, unstack them at the Inventory Kiosk!

The New FT Queue

  • The Flower Token Queue is now entirely on-site and requires you to submit your pieces to it for valuing.
  • Each contributor to a collaboration, trade, and both commissioner and commisionee will need to submit separately in order to receive their FT.
  • Further rules and information can be found in the details of the submission listing.
  • In exchange for this, once your piece(s) are valued, your rewards will be delivered automatically to your bank!
  • To submit your piece(s) to the FT Queue for valuing:
    • It can be found here.
    • Make sure to read through the details! They contain the relevant rules and information to submit.
    • Once you're ready, click the "new submission" button...
    • ...and fill out the form with your submission URL and any comments as necessary.
    • Then click the "Submit" button!

Stickers

  • Stickers are now treated as non-transferable "items" by the site, with their own category-- with Patreon stickers in their own.
    • As a result, the sticker log is effectively merged with the item log; however, this means it is now automatically kept.
  • This is so that stickers can be awarded easily and efficiently!
  • If you qualify for a sticker, you should now submit a claim!
    • For the URL, enter in either the applicable proof (if there's only one) or a link to the sticker guide.
    • In the comments section, state what qualifies you for that sticker, including links if there are more than one.
    • Finally, add the sticker itself to your claim!
      • In the "Rewards" section, click "Add Reward"
      • For "Reward Type", select "Item"
      • Then, select the sticker you've qualified for!
    • And submit!

Ranks

  • Ranks are handled by the site and displayed on your profile and in the user list (assuming you have a rank).
  • If you qualify for a new rank, you should now submit a claim!
    • For the URL, enter a link to the ranks guide.
    • In the comments section, state what rank you are petitioning for and what qualifies you for it, including links to proof.
    • And submit!

The Item DB

  • As a result of all this, the sta.sh item database is being phased out and will no longer be maintained.
  • This new item database is:
    • Categorized
    • Searchable
    • Contains links to each item's corresponding wiki page in its entry
  • However, it's worth noting that as item names have a 25 character limit, some item names may have changed or been contracted from what you are used to!
    • An effort was made to preserve the "item type", so while this isn't always true, it should help you in searching for a given item.
    • If you just can't find something, feel free to ask an admin!

the Masterlist

  • The Mothcats masterlist will now exist on site.
  • It has a fresh look and features purpose-built for the job!
    • This includes more advanced search tools, with which you can do things like:
      • Search for a specific trait
      • Search by designer or artist
      • Search only for characters who are up for trade
      • Search only for characters who are accepting gift art
    • It also has clear display of the information you're used to, such as traits, designer and artist credits, gift/trade/resale status, and any active transfer cooldown.
      • There's also a dedicated UI for images past and present, with specific indicators for outdated images only present for archival purposes.
  • Registering for the site is not and will not be necessary to have ownership of a character recognized by the masterlist.
    • This is because it tracks ownership by deviantArt username, in part...
    • ...and then associates characters with your account when if/when you register and link your (character-owning) dA account.
  • However, if you register, you can access additional functions and features for characters you own, such as:
    • Adding your character's name to their masterlist entry!
    • Characters have an editable profile section!
    • Initiating a character transfer via on-site utilities-- these must still be approved by an admin, but the process is now streamlined.

Character Inventories

  • On that note, due to these changes, trackers as they exist in a mechanical sense-- to track individual characters' inventories and their logs-- will be integrated into the masterlist.
  • Each character in the masterlist has their own inventory! They can own their own items; you can transfer items from your inventory to the inventory of any character you own from their inventory page.
    • Note that not all items can be owned by characters; to see which categories of items can be, check the item categories list!
  • In order to attach an item to a character:
    • Navigate to the character's masterlist entry
    • Click "Inventory" in the sidebar
    • Click "Show" next to the "Your Inventory"
    • Select the items you wish to attach, then click "Transfer".
  • In order to transfer an item from a character:
    • Navigate to the character's masterlist entry
    • Click "Inventory" in the sidebar
    • Click the item you wish to transfer
    • Select with the checkbox the stack and, if relevant, quantity of the item you wish to transfer
    • Click "Transfer".
  • Note that clothing and companion slots must still be attached through the Inventory Kiosk! See there for further instructions.

the MYO Slot Database

  • There is now also a dedicated database for MYO slots!
  • MYO slots in this database function as sort of "character-lites"-- the precursor to masterlist entries.
    • These have such information as their sale/trade/gift status, including any resale value.
    • By being able to track and clearly represent each slot's status individually like this, we're able to safely allow them to be traded.
  • MYO slots in this database are attached to your account much like characters in the masterlist, so you can keep track of them easily.

MYO Slot Conversion

  • Your existing MYO slots, as well as any slots you acquire later, will need to be converted by an admin into on-site MYO slots.
    • To do this, take your link(s) with proof of ownership of the MYO slot(s) to the MYO Kiosk!

MYO Tickets and You

  • Going forward, MYO tickets will be obtained as rewards from ARPG functions-- such as surprise eggs-- and exchanged for full MYO slots.
    • To do so, go to the MYO Kiosk!

the Design Update System

  • This is a system of the site that serves two roles!
  • Broadly, it provides an on-site system for submitting design updates for approval and, following that, integration into the masterlist.
  • It includes:
    • Space to enter comments about your submission
    • Upload an image for submission
    • Select traits
    • Select items to use as part of your submission
      • These are consumed if your submission is approved, and returned if you cancel it or it is denied.
  • Additionally, submissions are assembled via drafts that you save step-by-step and can put down and return to at any time until you are ready to submit to the queue.

MYO Submissions

  • MYO submissions are now handled on-site via this system.
  • You can begin assembling a draft for a MYO submission by going to the MYO slot's page and clicking the "Submit MYO Design" link in the sidebar.
  • Upon being accepted, your MYO will be incorporated directly into the masterlist!

Salons

  • The second role this system serves is to power salons. However, this only concerns the submission for approval and incorporation into the masterlist.
    • For instance, appraisals remain on dA.
    • Please see the salon guide, including the updated Design Update Guide, for more information!

Dubious Potions, Essences of Enigma, and other random trait modifiers

Rolls from Dubious Potions, Essences of Enigma, and any other similar items are now logged for you on the masterlist. As such, you don't need to provide proof of these rolls- you just need to state you're redeeming them while preparing the update.

As previously, rolls need to be used before a character can continue to be used in the group.

Market

Shops

  • Shops are now located entirely on-site; additionally, purchasing from them is now fully automatic!
    • That is, when you purchase an item, its cost is automatically deducted from your bank and the item placed in your inventory instantly (and all necessary logs made).
    • You can find all shops here!
  • While most shops take FT, as you might be used to, there are also special shops that take other currencies!
    • For instance, the Community Garden prize shop, located here, takes points earned from the garden (now, aptly, Garden Points.)
  • Like inventories, shop stocks are automatically categorized by item type.

Trading

  • The functional portion of trading (that is, the act of trading itself) is now located entirely on-site and automated!
  • The discussion element of trades-- such as comments and listings-- will remain as they are; the Trading Post on dA will continue its role as hub for these activities, though the act of trading itself has moved.
  • Characters can also be traded using this interface!
    • Though in this case, a finalized trade must be approved by an admin before it processes.
  • So, the new steps to make a trade might look like:
    • Make a listing at the Trading Post (as usual)
    • Discuss terms with someone (as usual)
    • Go to the trade hub on-site
    • One of the participants creates a new trade,
      • Selects their trade partner from the list of users,
      • And fills out this form in the comments section (this can also be found on the "New Trade" page):
Trade Agreement: Link to the listing or other proof of discussion!
What's Being Traded: OPTIONAL-- only required if there's something being traded not recognized by the site-- for instance, art!
      • And then selects items and/or characters and/or currency as appropriate.
      • Then sends the trade!
    • The other participant will be notified on-site and prompted to fill out their side of the trade.
    • Again, each side will need to confirm their side of the trade, and then confirm again once they have each confirmed once to finalize the trade.
    • After that, provided no characters are involved, the trade will automatically process, and items/currency be added to/removed from the participants banks as appropriate!
      • If a character is involved, the trade will process once an admin has looked over and approved it.

Quests

  • Quests will be handled on-site as submissions.
  • However, commenting to start certain quests will remain on dA.
  • The remainder of quests will be posted exclusively on site.
    • Asking questions, etc. will remain on dA; you can do so at the Quest Bulletin.
  • To start a quest, start by either commenting on dA for the above quests or by browsing the on-site quest listing. Note that the listing shows only categories at first-- you'll need to click the magnifying glass icons by the category name to see the quests in that category!
    • Once you've found a quest (and commented on dA to start it if necessary), make sure you read all relevant rules and information!
      • This information will be in the details for each quest and on any associated dA journal.
    • Once you're ready, click the "new submission" button...
    • ...and fill out the form with your submission URL and any comments as necessary.
    • Then click the "Submit" button!
    • NOTE: You will still need to submit your piece to the FT Queue in order to be awarded FT for it!

the Quest Log

  • The quest log has been effectively incorporated into your generalized submission log. As a result, like the rest of your bank, it does not need to be manually maintained.
    • This can be viewed on your profile under the "Submissions" link in the menu.

Community Garden/Improvement Bingo

  • Community Garden's information, including the month's community prompt, can be found here!
  • Registration for both personal and community prompts (not to be confused with the site function!) will remain on dA as they are now.
  • Submissions are on site and located here!
    • Make sure to read the details!
  • Additionally, as mentioned above, the prize shop is now on site and fully automatic!
    • To spend your points, go here!

Migrating your Existing Points

  • If you have points from prior to the site, comment here with a link to your on-site profile to have your standing point balance added to your bank!

Lotto and Pawsitivity

Lotto

  • Due to low traffic, the FT and item lottos are shutting down.

Pawsitivity Corner

  • Pawsitivity is now fully on site!
  • More information can be found here!
  • To submit a Pawsitivity entry:
    • Pawsitivity submissions can be found here!
    • Make sure to read the details!
  • Prizes will be awarded manually by a market runner; you do not need to take any additional action.

Amity Park

  • Will remain on dA and operate as usual.
    • Changes to your inventory, such as bait use, or the addition of a companion in the event you are successful in taming one, will be manually handled by a market runner; you do not need to take any additional action.

Junkyard

  • Recycling items is now done from within your inventory and fully automated!
    • As before, you can recycle items rarity 1-6 except for any openable item (this includes eggs!) If in doubt, check the item in your inventory-- valid items have a "Recyclable" tag!
    • Recycling an item will give you its rarity worth in Junkyard Points! You can check items' rarities by consulting the Item Database Spreadsheet.
    • Note that stacks will only return 1 item's worth of points, so you should unstack them at the Inventory Kiosk before recycling them!
  • To recycle an eligible item,
    • Go to your inventory and click on the item you want to recycle.
    • Click the "Recycle Item" header.
    • When ready, click the "Recycle" button.
    • Your Junkyard Points will be automatically credited to your bank!
  • Additionally, the prize shop is now on site and fully automatic!
    • To spend your points, go here!
