What Are Consumables?

Consumables are "edits" that you can apply to your Mothcat via the Mothcat Market. Most can be bought with Flower Tokens and include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Dyes
  • Trait Changes
  • Crafting materials
  • Accessories (crafted or purchased)
    • Does not include any accessories that come with your Mothcat!
  • Companions

All unused consumables are held in your Mothcat Bank inventory. Once used, they're removed from your inventory and cannot be renewed. (Meaning they're gone forever!)

All About Dyes

Dyes can be bought from Ayana's Beauty Salon, but may be awarded during special events as well. They come in a variety of colors, including special varieties with additional effects called Essences!

These items can serve many purposes, such as:

  • Recoloring certain parts of your Mothcat
  • Recoloring other consumables
    • Includes crafting materials, accessories, and companions
    • "Painting" your Mothcat home (to be developed!)

To learn more about Dyes and how to use them, visit the Dye Tutorial!

Intro to Trait Changes

Trait changes can sometimes be obtained from special events or certain quests, or purchased at Ayana's Beauty Salon!

These items allow you to change one trait of a Mothcat to a trait that is the rarity level of the trait change or lower.

To learn more about how to use trait changes, visit the Mothcat Redesigns guide!

Using Crafting Materials

Crafting materials can be bought from Farina's Craft Shop, obtained from quests, or awarded from special events.

They include, but are not limited to:

  • Cloth
  • String/rope
  • Silk
  • Charms/buttons
  • Etc.

These items can be used to craft accessories for your Mothcat!

To learn more about crafting, visit the Crafting Tutorial!

Accessories and You

Much like their original fairy counterparts, Mothcats enjoy wearing accessories.

These can include, but are not limited to:

  • Hats/headgear
  • Jewelry
  • Clothing
  • Bags
  • Miscellaneous accessories

Accessories can be earned in the following ways:

  • Purchasing an adopt that is already wearing accessories
  • From special events
  • Crafting them
  • Via Quests
  • Trade with another user
  • Use of a Clothing/Accessory Slot

Accessories can be applied to Mothcats anytime!

To learn more about accessories, visit the Accessories Tutorial!

NOTE: Mothcats CANNOT be drawn with accessories/markings/items that they do not own more than once! You can draw your Mothcat wearing a certain thing once before it has to be crafted to be accepted!

Companions 101

Some Mothcats prefer the companionship of other critters, big and small.

They can be obtained in the following ways:

  • Purchasing an adopt that already has a companion
  • From special events
  • "Befriending" a companion through Amity Park
  • Use of a Companion Slot

Unlike other consumables, companions have a percent chance to return to your inventory when detached.

To learn more about companions, visit the Companion Tutorial!
