1,513 bytes added, 01:06, 29 April 2022
General page update: updated links to the website, cleared up some of the listings to current standards, added some info on subspecies enchantments and added the current rulings on downgrades
Pre-made Mothcats from various sources such as advents and auctions may come with enchantments already included. These are generally established, but the buyer may customize details, as appropriate.
To apply enchantments to pre-existing Mothcats or MYOs, you must obtain and use Enchantment Potions. These can be obtained through the enchantment Enchantment Station quest, in the ARPG.
Levels of Enchantment
Grade 1 enchantments include, but aren't limited to:
* Simple action-based things, such as:
** Temporary 1-to-1 color changingchanges*** Some slight color variation is okay as long as the result is one color.
** Most temporary actions
* Companion-based things, such as:
** Familiars (functional similar to companions, but with no limit beyond amount of enchantments applieda Gold Companion Slot)
** Animated objects
* Item-based things, such as:
** Accessories/clothing
** Any item in general that's enchanted
*** This can include similar effects to Grade 2 Enchantments as long as the effect is clearly linked to the item.
*** Grade 3 Enchantment-like effects generally will still require a Grade 3 Enchantment even as a item, but some effects may be doable as Grade 1 if the effect is solely limited to the item with no effect on the character at all.
Grade 2:
** Moving markings
*** Generally retains the look of the original markings.
** AlwaysColor changes beyond 1-changing to-1 changes*** This can include adding gradients, multiple colors (i-to-multiple colors, multiple results, and so on.e. chameleon skin)** Any applied trait markings *** Includes applied trait related effects, like controllable invisibility**** Glow can be controlled without an enchantment!
** One-way transformations
** Size transformations
** Unlimited transformations (unlimited forms - usually in the form of other animals and stuff)
*** One enchantment per form
* Living Animation** Turns inanimate Mothcats that are not made out of Mothcat, whether they be animated objects into ", the living" Mothcats (can be used on extant Mothcatsdead, or something else!)
*** Toy/plushie
*** Food/sugar
*** Undead
*** Others!
* Unrealistic non-Mothcat proportions
** Anything that goes beyond what could be considered feasible, or that is seen on real animals.
** Cannot be used to create Munchkin Mothcats!
If you have a question as to what grade an enchantment falls under, please ask here!

Subspecies
Subspecies can have enchantments, but they may function somewhat differently, as the system was largely made for Mothcats.

Generally, these kinds of enchantments cannot be used on subspecies:
* Enchanted Breeds
Sparklenoses largely do not need enchantments, as they can have similar effects naturally. They only require enchantments for effects that involve non-Sparklenoses, such as other Mothcat-species forms.

It is recommended you get an appraisal before enchanting a subspecies, as there may be other conflicts!
Potions
Enchantment Potions
The normal enchantment potions apply the grade of enchantment stated- eg. a grade 2 will apply a grade 2. You cannot downgrade an enchantment grade. Enchantment Potions may be downgraded! Enchantment Potions may only be used once each.
They may also be used to apply Chimera Traits when combined with a TC- please check that page for details!
Dubious Potions
Dubious potions may be used at the [httpshttp://www.deviantartmothcats.com/mothkitten/journalprompts/prompts?name=Inventory-Bank-Updates-+Kiosk-691308101 &prompt_category_id=4 Item Kiosk] to make an inanimate object a companion. However, they may also be consumed by a Mothcat to possibly add an enchantment of a random grade to the Mothcat! Dubious potions may also only be used once each.
To use a dubious potion on a Mothcat, please go prompts?name=Character-Effecting+Item+Rolls&prompt_category_id=4&sort=category here. You must declare a Mothcat to use the potion on, in case an enchantment is rolled. Dubious Potions cannot be used on MYO slots!
The possible results- and rates- of using a dubious potion on a Mothcat are:
|2%
|}
Dubious Potion results are locked to the rolled grade, if an enchantment is rolled.

By using a dubious potion, you agree to the risk that you may get a result you don't want. Gamble responsibly!
Enchantments are treated as TCs by the salon, and thus do not incur a fee if they're the only major change being made to the Mothcat.

Appraisals may be gotten here- they are not strictly required, but heavily recommended.
