Our companion site brings a number of changes to the group's ARPG functions. The following is a list of what has changed and how, as well as what explicitly has not changed.

Keep an eye out for bolded points for directions regarding the new procedures!

Banking

  • All Mothcat Banks and banking now live on the site!
    • Your new Mothcat Bank is your user profile on site.
  • General inventory management, including record-keeping, is now managed by the site itself.
    • Which is to say: you will no longer need or be expected to update your own bank or transaction log going forward.
  • Currencies, such as Flower Tokens, and items will enter your bank as:
    • A reward for a submission
    • A result of a claim
    • A direct grant from an admin
  • And be removed either manually by an admin as part of a ARPG function, or as a result of one of a couple functions of the site (that must be prompted by the user-- that is, you.)

Migrating your Bank

  • If you have an existing Mothcat Bank that you want to migrate to the new site:
    • You should first make sure your bank, especially your transaction log, is up-to-date!
    • Stop by the Migration Station and the migration team will help you out!

The New FT Queue

  • The Flower Token Queue is now entirely on-site and requires you to submit your pieces to it for valuing.
    • It can be found as a "prompt" here.
  • Each contributor to a collaboration, trade, and both commissioner and commisionee will need to submit separately in order to receive their FT.
  • Further rules and information can be found in the details of the prompt.
  • In exchange for this, once your piece(s) are valued, your rewards will be delivered automatically to your bank!

Stickers

  • Stickers are now treated as non-transferable "items" by the site, with their own category-- with Patreon stickers in their own.
    • As a result, the sticker log is effectively merged with the item log; however, this means it is now automatically kept.
  • This is so that stickers can be awarded easily and efficiently!
  • If you qualify for a sticker, you should now submit a claim!
    • For the URL, enter in either the applicable proof (if there's only one) or a link to the sticker guide.
    • In the comments section, state what qualifies you for that sticker, including links if there are more than one.
    • Finally, add the sticker itself to your claim!
      • In the "Rewards" section, click "Add Reward"
      • For "Reward Type", select "Item"
      • Then, select the sticker you've qualified for!
    • And submit!

The Item DB

  • As a result of all this, the sta.sh item database is being phased out and will no longer be maintained.
  • This new item database is:
    • Categorized
    • Searchable
    • Contains links to each item's corresponding wiki page in its entry
  • However, it's worth noting that as item names have a 25 character limit, some item names may have changed or been contracted from what you are used to!
    • An effort was made to preserve the "item type", so while this isn't always true, it should help you in searching for a given item.
    • If you just can't find something, feel free to ask an admin!

the Masterlist

  • The Mothcats masterlist will now exist on site.
  • It has a fresh look and features purpose-built for the job!
    • This includes more advanced search tools, with which you can do things like:
      • Search for a specific trait
      • Search by designer or artist
      • Search only for characters who are up for trade
      • Search only for characters who are accepting gift art
    • It also has clear display of the information you're used to, such as traits, designer and artist credits, gift/trade/resale status, and any active transfer cooldown.
      • There's also a dedicated UI for images past and present, with specific indicators for outdated images only present for archival purposes.
  • Registering for the site is not and will not be necessary to have ownership of a character recognized by the masterlist.
    • This is because it tracks ownership by deviantArt username, in part...
    • ...and then associates characters with your account when if/when you register and link your (character-owning) dA account.
  • However, if you register, you can access additional functions and features for characters you own, such as:
    • Adding your character's name to their masterlist entry!
    • Characters have an editable profile section!

Character Inventories

  • On that note, due to these changes, trackers as they exist in a mechanical sense-- to track individual characters' inventories and their logs-- will be integrated into the masterlist.
    • This will be part of the purpose of the owner-editable profile section of masterlist entries!
  • As it stands, items cannot be attached to characters. However, we have a workaround using currencies-- Accessory Tokens and Companion Tokens-- to track the respective attachments.
    • When attached (or removed) to/from characters, the item(s) in question will be logged in the character's "Currency Logs"...
    • ...and the corresponding item removed from/added to your on-site inventory by an admin.
  • This means that, in order to attach an item to a character:
    • You go to the Inventory Kiosk as usual
    • And provide a link to your on-site profile and to the masterlist entry of the character(s) you want to attach item(s) to in place of the prior bank and tracker/ID links.
    • Everything else is handled by an admin!

the MYO Slot Database

  • There is now also a dedicated database for MYO slots!
  • MYO slots in this database function as sort of "character-lites"-- the precursor to masterlist entries.
    • These have such information as their sale/trade/gift status, including any resale value.
    • By being able to track and clearly represent each slot's status individually like this, we're able to safely allow them to be traded.
  • MYO slots in this database are attached to your account much like characters in the masterlist, so you can keep track of them easily.

MYO Slot Conversion

  • Your existing MYO slots, as well as any slots you acquire later, will need to be converted by an admin into on-site MYO slots.
    • To do this, take your link(s) with proof of ownership of the MYO slot(s) to the MYO Kiosk!

MYO Tickets and You

  • Going forward, MYO tickets will be obtained as rewards from ARPG functions-- such as surprise eggs-- and exchanged for full MYO slots.
    • To do so, go to the MYO Kiosk!

the Design Update System

  • This is a system of the site that serves two roles!
  • Broadly, it provides an on-site system for submitting design updates for approval and, following that, integration into the masterlist.
  • It includes:
    • Space to enter comments about your submission
    • Upload an image for submission
    • Select traits
    • Select items to use as part of your submission
      • These are consumed if your submission is approved, and returned if you cancel it or it is denied.
  • Additionally, submissions are assembled via drafts that you save step-by-step and can put down and return to at any time until you are ready to submit to the queue.

MYO Submissions

  • MYO submissions are now handled on-site via this system.
  • You can begin assembling a draft for a MYO submission by going to the MYO slot's page and clicking the "Submit MYO Design" link in the sidebar.
    • For the submission image, please upload the image of the character you would upload to the gallery for approval.
      • However, for Mothcats, you must also include a link to the Mothcat on the base. Do so in the submission comments.
    • Enter in traits and select any additional items you are using as necessary.
    • As you work, make sure you save your inputs on each page!
    • When you are ready, submit your MYO to the queue!
  • Upon being accepted, your MYO will be incorporated directly into the masterlist!

Salons

  • The second role this system serves is to power salons. However, this only concerns the submission for approval and incorporation into the masterlist.
    • For instance, appraisals remain on dA.
    • Please see the salon guide for more information.
  • So, for instance, the procedure for a self-service salon might look like:
    • Obtain an appraisal!
    • Then, once you are ready to submit your design, go to your character's masterlist entry.
    • Click the "Update Design" link in the sidebar.
    • Fill out each page, making sure to upload the updated base, attach any and all items you are using-- as well as the FT fee-- and updating traits if necessary.
      • As you work, make sure to save your inputs on each page!
    • When you are ready, submit your design update to the queue for approval!
    • Upon being accepted, your design update will be incorporated directly into the masterlist!
  • For an OA salon:
    • Commission an OA for your salon!
    • When ready, navigate to your character's masterlist entry and click the "Update Design" link in the sidebar.
    • Fill out each page as above, making sure to upload the final OA art for your character.
      • As you work, make sure to save your inputs on each page!
    • When you are ready, submit your design update to the queue for approval!
    • Upon being accepted, your design update will be incorporated directly into the masterlist!
