Deactivating a Mothcat

If for any reason you no longer wish to have a registered Mothcat active, you may choose to deactivate it.

Deactivation removes a design from the group, and prevents the use of the Mothcat within the group, as well as any transfer, via sale, trade or otherwise. It does not, however, prevent use of the design beyond the bounds of the group.

Deactivating

To deactivate a Mothcat:

• Send a note to Mothchive

.

• For clarity, title this something to the effect of "Mothcat (Number) Deactivation" or similar.
• Include alongside your request a link to the Mothcat in question's Mothchive entry.

Reactivation

We understand people may have personal reasons for deactivating a Mothcat, and so you may choose to reactivate a design in the group at a later date.

To do so,

• Once again note Mothchive

.

• Title this something to the effect of "Mothcat (Number) Reactivation" or similar.
• Include alongside your request a link to the Mothcat in question's Mothchive entry.

Note that the following restrictions apply to reactivated cats:

• Again, a Mothcat may only be reactivated once, so deactivating a Mothcat again is permanent.
  • This one reactivation is per owner of a specific Mothcat, so that if a Mothcat is reactivated and then is transferred for any reason, it may be deactivated and reactivated again safely. This clause is subject to change if we find it is being abused.
• Reactivated Mothcats may not be transferred (via sale, trade, or otherwise) for 3 months after reactivation. This is also subject to change if we find it is being abused.
  • Reactivating a design as an official Mothcat solely to trade is not the intended purpose of this allowance and may be considered abuse of the system.
