Companions are small creatures that can act as pets to Mothcats and subspecies! The easiest ways to get companions are through Amity Park, the Companions Shop, as well as through events and quests. As a rule of thumb, companions must be smaller than the Mothcat or Subspecies they belong to. That means Mothkittens and Subspecies can only have tiny companions like insects.

Rules/Guidelines

  • Only Mothcats members may utilize the companions feature. (All members automatically agree to our Species Terms and Conditions).
  • Members do not require a Mothcat to participate in any events or quests.
  • Any members hoping to gain a companion must have a Mothcat Bank.

Amity Park

  1. Amity Park is a Mothcat Market feature that offers members the opportunity to "befriend" certain wild animals. These animals can act as companions for Mothcats.
  2. Mothcats subspecies can also appear in Amity Park. They can be kept as standalone characters or companions to existing Mothcats.
  3. Members can purchase Companion Bait using Flower Tokens to visit the park.
  1. They will act as your tickets into the park. Without one, you won't be able to participate.
  2. Bait can be purchased below.
  1. Users must wait 24 hours after admin response to try for a companion again (this includes new companions and repeat tries for the same companion).
  2. That means you can only try for one companion at a time, so choose wisely!
  3. Check back frequently, because new companions may appear in the Open Field at any time!

Approaching Companions

  1. Visit the Open Field below to see if there are any wild animals in the area.
  2. Click on any animals of interest to be taken to a stash file.
  3. Comment on the file with the following form filled out:
Link to Mothcat Bank:
Using Companion Whistle: (yes/no)
Current Bait Count: (if using bait)
New Bait Count: (after using bait)
  1. Companion Whistles can be used in place of bait and guarantee 100% befriend rates for a companion.

Attaching/Releasing Companions

  1. Amity Park offers the option to attach companions to their Mothcats or release them back into the wild by visiting the Path of New Beginnings.
  2. Mothcat companions get very attached to their owners and there's a percent chance that they will choose to stay after being detached, returning to the member's inventory.
  3. Companions who have been released back into the wild have a chance of appearing in Amity Park for others to approach.
  4. Bait is not required to attach/release companions.
  5. Comment here to use the feature.

Attracting Companions

  1. Companion whistles allow you to "wish" for specific companions at the Path of New Beginnings.
  1. This includes “custom” companions that do not yet exist in the item database.
  2. Bait is NOT needed to use the Path of New Beginnings
  3. While a companion whistle guarantees that a companion will appear, there is a small chance that it might be something other than what was "wished" for.
  1. Companion whistle "accuracy" decreases the rarer/more mythical your wish is.
  1. Florabuns and other subspecies cannot be attracted in this manner. This option is only for regular animal companions.
  2. Once a "custom" companion is befriended, it is the user's responsibility to supply the animal's thumbnail.
